Located in the heart of Rotterdam’s Scheepvaartkwartier, Market Bar Mare is a vibrant seafood bar and shop where quality, hospitality and experience come together. Owners Floris Stock and Alexander Wuijts: "We wanted to create a place where everyone feels welcome: whether it’s for a quick oyster at the bar, a fresh lunch or a full dinner."
Mare is a modern tribute to the classic fish shop, reimagined. Our long, flowing bar invites spontaneous conversations and interaction with our team. Designed by Dennis Koeslag, the interior reflects a raw elegance, using materials like concrete, steel, and recycled plastic. Sustainable and stylish, reminiscent of chic seafood bars in cities like Lisbon. Come and stop by for a glass of champagne with herring, enjoying classic kibbeling on Wednesdays or spending the evening exploring our seafood dishes and wine pairings. Mare welcomes everyone, any time of day. We combine premium fish and wine with a relaxed, buzzing atmosphere. The result?
